Dear AOE Families,

Go, Eagles, Go!

As we head into the next two weeks, we want to send a huge burst of encouragement to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students as they begin CAASPP state testing!

Our students have worked so hard all year, and this is simply an opportunity for them to "show what they know." We are already incredibly proud of their perseverance, their curiosity, and the growth they’ve shown in every classroom.

To our testing students: Take a deep breath, do your best, and remember that you are so much more than a score! We are cheering for you every step of the way.

To our families: Thank you for ensuring our Eagles arrive on time, well-rested, and ready to soar!

Gratitude for Staff Appreciation Week

On behalf of the entire Aviara Oaks Elementary staff, I want to extend a massive thank you to our wonderful families and community for making Staff Appreciation Week so incredibly special.

We are truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of kind words, beautiful cards, thoughtful gifts, and creative celebrations. Your generosity and support mean the world to us and serve as a powerful reminder of why we love serving this community. It is a joy to partner with you in supporting our students, and you certainly made us feel like the "stars" we strive to be for your children every day.

Thank you for your kindness and for making our team feel so valued!

CAASPP State Testing for all 3rd-5th Graders May 11-May 22

Save the date! We will be conducting state testing at AOE from 5/11/2026-5/22/2026. To assist with a smooth testing experience, please have your child at school everyday by 8:20am. Thank you so much!

Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders

As we enter into the final few weeks of school, we know it's a very busy time of year! If you have someone else dropping off or picking up your student from school, please share our procedures with them so we can prioritize safety. Thank you for driving slowly through our driveway and parking lots and for yielding to pedestrians.

Reminder: The lower lot gate is reserved for Kids Care, TK, and Preschool use only. All other grades and students will be directed to use the gates in our big "U".

AOE Drop Off and Pick Up

You’re Invited: AOE Open House!

We are so excited to invite our entire school community to Open House TK-5th on Thursday, May 28th, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to walk through our halls, visit the classrooms, and celebrate the incredible work and growth our students have achieved this year. Our Eagles are so proud to show you what they’ve been learning!

Please keep in mind that parking can be a significant challenge during our large campus events. We recommend arriving a few minutes early, carpooling with neighbors if possible, and being mindful of our local parking regulations to ensure a smooth evening for everyone.

We can't wait to see you there for an evening of community and celebration!

Full Day Kindergarten Pilot 2026-2027

AOE was approved by our CUSD Board of Trustees to participate in the Full Day Kindergarten Pilot for 2026-2027 school year! We will be moving full steam ahead to begin preparations into the summer.

Pandamonium Party!

Mrs. Oshima is retiring this year after dedicating 34 years of service in the education field. She has dedicated 19 of those years serving Carlsbad Unified School District, with 18 of those years at AOE. Please join her at this event on 5/28 between 3:30-5:30pm to honor her legacy!

All-Inclusive Field Day 5/24/26 10-12:00 at Holiday Park!

Your are invited to an All-Inclusive Field Day 2026 on Sunday, May 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Holiday Park!

This event is designed to be a fun, welcoming, and inclusive experience for students of all abilities and their families. There will be a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy, including games, movement stations, and opportunities for social connection in a supportive environment.

The goal is to create a space where everyone can participate, feel successful, and have fun alongside their peers.

Annual Red, White, and Blue Day Hosted by GI Go Fund

On behalf of the GI Go Fund, I’d like to extend an invitation for Carlsbad Unified to participate in our annual Red, White & Blue Day in honor of Memorial Day. This program brings communities together in support of veterans in need, and we would greatly appreciate your support at the district level.

This year’s event is planned for Thursday, May 21, though districts and schools are welcome to participate on a date that works best for them.

Over the last 15 years, Red, White & Blue Day has made it easy for schools to honor our service members and veterans in a meaningful way before Memorial Day. Participants wear red, white, and blue and make a small voluntary donation of $5, with all proceeds going directly to the GI Go Fund to support veterans with employment, housing, and other critical services. This year is particularly significant as we approach the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

When you sign up, you are provided with an optional Team Page for collecting donations online. You also can choose between registering as a district-wide program or having your schools create their own Team Pages.
