OUR MISSION

AOE...developing lifelong learners through quality education, collaboration and communication to build productive, successful citizens of our community.

OUR HISTORY

Aviara Oaks Elementary School first opened its doors in September 1990 with 350 kindergarten - sixth grade students and 11 teachers. Over the years enrollment increased, and in 1999, the school expanded into a kindergarten - eighth grade school with nearly 1200 students. The following year, Aviara Oaks reestablished itself as two separate schools - Aviara Oaks Elementary (K-5) and Aviara Oaks Middle (6-8). Currently, AOE School has 730 students, 1 Administrator, 33 teachers, and 21 support personnel including health, technology, office, cafeteria, custodial and library staff, all of whom are dedicated to maintaining Aviara Oaks School's standard of excellence.

The 19-acre elementary school campus is located in the southern-most part of the city of Carlsbad. The facilities are situated in a park-like setting with well-manicured lawns and plenty of open spaces between classrooms, allowing ample room for playgrounds and athletic fields. The campus contains 37 general education classrooms and one special education classroom, two computer labs, an auditorium, a cafeteria, a library, a health office and administrative offices. The elementary campus is adjacent to the Aviara Oaks Middle School campus, with the AOES administrative complex separating the two schools.

The Aviara Oaks School community includes a variety of housing developments: single family homes, apartments, affordable housing, and town homes. Many families choose to live in the Aviara Oaks attendance area due to the school's reputation for high academic excellence.

School Accountability Report Card

Student success and consistent school-wide growth is evident in our school data. To monitor our progress, please see our School Accountability Report Card. This is an annual report to the community about teaching, learning, test results, resources, and measures of progress in our school. The school report tells you how your child’s school is doing compared to last year and to other schools.
